Will All Manufactures Stop at 12 Megapixels ?

Some of us have been disappointed in relatively megapixel, most manufactures focus on it instead image quality, but Olympus said different. According to Akira Watanabe, manager of Olympus Imaging’s SLR planning department, he claims that

“Twelve megapixels is, I think, enough for covering most applications most customers need.”

We think that education is the best policy if Watanabe is correct – that would mean spending more money, effort and energy in keeping the market informed of how megapixel count doesn’t really matter in this day so that they are able to make a more informed purchase decision. But if that fails, then we guess Olympus will definitely keep up with the rest of the industry by printing higher megapixel counts on their camera’s body in order to entice customers to part with their dollar.
