Seconic has rolled out the limited edition L-308S Flashmate meter in order to celebrate its sixtieth anniversary this year. Available in red, green and blue, the pocket-sized light meter is designed to read ambient or flash exposures in either reflected or incident modes, and displays accurate exposure readings in full, half, or third-stop increments. The limited edition Sekonic L-308S Flashmate meter retails for US$233.
Additionally, the company also announced a 60th Anniversary Contest, inviting photographers to write a story about when they “fell in love with light”. To enter, contestants need to write a story between 250 and 500 words telling Sekonic about the moment they fell in love with light. Submissions will be accepted until July 31, 2011. The Leica M9-P Hammertone Limited Edition was created to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Leica Ginza store in Tokyo. This limited edition camera features a classic Leica writing on top plate, a vulcanite cover, a sapphire LCD glass and no red Leica logo or M9 marking on the front. Canon Australia will launch the Limited Edition Red EOS 1100D Kit on June 6th, 2011. It is available in a limited quantity of 2,000 units. The kit consists of the red Canon EOS 1100D body, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS II lens, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4–5.6 IS lens, a red strap and a custom-made aluminum travel case. Pentax has collaborated with Warner Bros. to release a DC Super Heroes-inspired collection of personalized Pentax Optio RS1500 cameras. The limited edition RS1500 camera will come in a specially designed package, including seven different skins depicting the well known super heroes and super villains characters (Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Superman, Catwoman and The Joker), a 4 GB SD card, and a special Green Lantern protective camera case. Timed to coincide with the release of a new Warner Brothers action-adventure film, Green Lanterns, the Pentax Optio RS1500 DC Super Heroes collector pack will be available from May 1st, 2011 for £119.99 (US$196) each.
