Do you still remember the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC lens that we posted in September 2010? Samyang has recently modified the design of the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC lens by adding a DOF scale at the request of photographers. Priced at €379 or around US$527 (including taxes), this wide-angle manual-focus lens is available in Canon, Four Thirds, Nikon, Pentax, Samsung NX and Sony Alpha lens mounts. Samyang has released a new fish-eye lens for the Sony NEX-VG10 interchangeable-lens camcorder. The Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Fish-Eye CS VG10 lens comes equipped with a native Sony E bayonet mount. Due to its unique construction, the bayonet mount has been adjusted to ensure possibly wide field of vision without producing the vignetting effect. Just like in other lenses manufactured for filming purposes, aperture can be easily and smoothly adjusted. This fish-eye lens will be on display at the Focus On Imaging Show in Birmingham. Samsung is ready to launch five new NX lenses this year. They include a 18-200mm multi-purpose telephoto zoom, a 16mm ultra wide pancake, a 60mm macro, a 85mm ultra bright portrait and a 16-80mm standard zoom. These lenses are compatible with Samsung’s unique i-Function system. Here is the full list:

Panasonic has released a new firmware update for the 14-140mm lens. The firmware update version 1.4 will improve stability of O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and AF (Auto Focus) in movie recording. You can download the firmware software here. [Panasonic]

Samyang Optics is pleased to announce that the Samyang 14 mm f/2,8 ED AS IF UMC lens with Samsung NX mount is now available for sale. The lens’ electronic contacts allow full support of automatic exposure modes of Samsung NX cameras and ensure the inclusion of lens-related data in the EXIF metadata. The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC lens also has an angle of view, which is equivalent to that of a 21mm lens mounted to a 35mm camera.
