Priced at $25,999, the lens is ideal for astrophotography, portraits, wildlife, and sports. This ultra-telephoto zoom lens produces high-quality photos thanks to the SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and three ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements. Sigma has issued the firmware update version 1.02 for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR camera. The new firmware update corrects various bugs to achieve more stable operation and improves image quality at high sensitivity (ISO 3200, ISO 6400) for raw image files. Additionally, this firmware update also corrects the phenomenon of camera freeze when in Custom White Balance Mode. Sigma SD1 owners are able to download the firmware update version 1.02 here. Sigma has rolled out the SD15 Twin Zoom Kit, which consists of the SD15 digital single lens reflex camera, a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens and a Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM telezoom lens. The Sigma SD15 is a digital single lens reflex camera, which has a 14-mega pixel X3 direct image sensor that captures fully the three basic colors of light – red, green and blue – at every pixel location over three layers.
The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens is equipped with approximately 4 stops OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. The lens offers a large aperture of F2.8 at the 18mm focal length. The Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM telezoom lens offers approximately 4 stops OS (Optical Stabilizer). The small and light construction ensures great portability and easy handheld telephotography.
