Nikon Corporation will introduce the new Nikon D4 at the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nikon’s new FX-format digital SLR camera features a newly developed Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor (36.0 x 23.9 mm) with 16.2 effective megapixels, the EXPEED3 image processor, an ISO sensitivity range from 100 to 12800 at normal setting (expandable to ISO 50 equivalent or ISO 204800 equivalent), a 3.2-inch LCD display with a 170-degree viewing angle and an ambient light sensor, a new 51-point AF system and a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body.

The Nikon D4 also allows you to record 1,920 x 1,080/30p Full HD and HD movies in three formats such as FX-based, DX-based, or 1,920 x 1,080 crop movie format. What makes this new digital SLR more special is that it is compatible with CF and new XQD memory card format. Do you still remember the Pentax Special Robot Edition K-r DSLR that we posted back in December 2010? This limited edition DSLR camera comes in a bright, multi-colored body and a robotic head that fits into the flash hotshoe. Pentax USA and Walmart will launch the new Pentax K-r in limited edition colors such as pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, navy, metallic brown, gold and silver. My favorite is the silver model.

Here’s the good news for all Canon EOS 5D Mark II owners. Canon has rolled out the new firmware update for this full-frame digital SLR camera. The new firmware update version 2.1.1 includes the following fixes and improvements:
1. Fixes a phenomenon where shooting stops after capturing one image when in continuous shooting or the Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) continuous shooting setting.
2. Corrects wording in the Dutch language menu screen.

According to rumors, Nikon will announced the Nikon D800 DSLR on October 26th, 2011. As a successor to the Nikon D700, this new semi-pro camera has a superb 36-megapixels full frame FX sensor that allows the camera to capture Full HD videos in 1920 x 1080/30p. The Nikon D800 also has a 4fps continuous shooting mode, a larger LCD display with an automatic brightness adjustment, a shutter durability of 200,000 cycles, a USB 3.0 port, two CF card slots and an SD card slot. The latest firmware update for the Sigma SD1 DSLR camera is now available for download. The firmware update version 1.03 improves
- Accuracy of Auto White Balance.
- Accuracy of evaluative exposure metering.
- Accuracy of flashgun light control.
- Image quality at high ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 (only RAW file).
- Sharpness processing (only RAW file).
- Various bugs have been corrected to achieve more stable operation.
