Canon today rolled out a new firmware update for the EOS 60D DSLR camera. The firmware version 1.0.8 incorporates the following fix:
Fixes a phenomenon in which captured images may become overexposed when using the camera’s built-in flash or an external Speedlite in combination with the lenses listed below:*
a) EF300/4 L IS USM
b) EF28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM
c) EF75-300/4-5.6 IS USM
d) EF100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
The firmware version 1.0.8 is for the Canon EOS 60D with firmware version 1.0.5. If the camera’s firmware is already version 1.0.8, it is not necessary to update the firmware. You can download the firmware software here. [Canon]

Fujifilm has rolled out the first firmware update for the FinePix REAL 3D W3. The firmware update version 1.10 incorporates the following issues:
In [HD][1280] movie recording mode, Economy mode ([HD][1280]E) can be selected.
In this Economy mode, movie quality for long period is optimized.
For long continuous recording of 3D HD movies, Economy mode setting is recommended.
Fujifilm also recommends the use of SD memory cards with class 6 (6MB/s) or faster when you are recording HD movies. You can download the firmware software here. [Fujifilm]

The new firmware update for Nikon Coolpix P7000 compact digital camera is now available for download. The following improvements have been made in version 1.1 such as:
1. Total image recording times for NRW (RAW) files have been reduced. This includes image recording times for NRW+JPEG file recording options.
2. Lens control has been optimized to reduce the frequency with which the “Initializing lens. Cannot focus.” message is displayed.
3. An issue that, in some rare cases, prevented zoom operation has been resolved.
4. An issue that caused the monitor display to exhibit a loss of detail in highlights (blown highlights) when the shutter-release button was pressed halfway with Active D-Lighting enabled has been resolved.
The Nikon Coolpix P7000 firmware update version 1.1 is available for Windows and Mac.

Good news for all Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR/ F305EXR owners, because the company has recently launched firmware update version 1.01 for both cameras. Green House has started selling the GH-TCAM30C series toy camera, which comes equipped with only a 1/5-inch 0.3-megapixel CMOS sensor. This mini digital camera is able to capture up to 1280×960-pixel still photos. Weighing 25 grams (0.88 oz), this camera can also double as a USB webcam (at 320×240 resolution). Casio today released a new firmware update for the Casio Exilim EX-H20G compact digital camera. The firmware version 1.01 enables the camera to write all positioning log data stored in its memory to a memory card. This output log will be saved as a *.kml file. The company has also issued the user’s guide for this function. Owners of the Casio Exilim EX-H20G can download the firmware software here.
