olympus xz 1 01

The Olympus XZ-1 is aimed at amateurs and professional photographers looking for a second camera. The camera features a 10-megapixel 1/1.63 inch CCD sensor, a fast f/1.8-2.5, 4x wide-angle i.ZUIKO DIGITAL lens, a 3-inch OLED display and 720p HD movies. With a minimum aperture of f1.8 at wide-angle and a maximum aperture of f2.5 at telephoto, the i.ZUIKO DIGITAL f1.8-2.5 6.0-24mm assures fast shutter speeds for sharp low-light images. This aperture range also allows photographers to take portraits that highlight the subject by defocusing the background, a capability not possible in most compact cameras. The lens is specifically designed for clear, high-quality photographic performance with minimal ghosting or flare. To further boost the quality of stills and movies, you can also add an external flash, an electronic viewfinder or an external stereo microphone. The company will release more accessories for this digital camera in the near future. The Olympus XZ-1 comes in black and white and will be available in January 2011 at an estimated retail price of around US$499.99. Read more…
