The Ricoh PX compact digital camera offers a 5.0x, wide-angle (28mm) and telephoto (140mm) optical zoom in a water- and shock-resistant package that can safely be used for hassle-free photography in a wide variety of locations and situations. The camera features a 16-megapixel CCD sensor with the Smooth Imaging Engine IV image processing engine for high-resolution, high-quality photographs.
The Ricoh PX is waterproof down to a depth of 3 meters for a duration of up to 60-minute and can also withstand being dropped from a height of up to 1.5-meter. For low-light shooting, the camera provides a handheld night scene mode that uses pixel binning for improved light sensitivity. Additionally, the Ricoh PX can also record 720p HD video. The “Underwater Digi Cam” by Photojojo only packs a 1.3-megapixel sensor, a 1.4-inch LCD display, a fixed f3.1 lens, a 4x digital zoom and video recording at 30FPS. The Hasselblad H4D-200MS medium-format digital SLR camera is capable of creating 200-megapixel photos. Designed for studio photographers, the H4D-200MS features a 50-megapixel sensor and adopts the multi-shot technology to produce a 200-megapixel image. A piezoelectric motor slightly moves the sensor, while the camera takes six images of a scene. It takes around 30 seconds to capture and stitch the six pictures into a 600MB, 200MP image. Other features include support for an external hard drive and an ISO range of 50 to 800. Here is good news for all Disney’s Mickey Mouse fans in Japan. Panasonic has announced the availability of the LUMIX DMC-FP7D Mickey Mouse digital camera in that country. The special edition digicam features Mickey Mouse graphics on the sliding lens door and has its user interface enhanced with Disney characters. Users also have the ability to add Disney character themed icons, phrases and fancy borders to spice up their photographs with.
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FP7D comes jam packed with a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD display, a 4x optical zoom, a 16.1-megapixel CCD sensor and an image stabilization feature. Other specs include an 84MB of internal memory, which is upgradeable via an SD card slot. Leica Camera AG will release a new 14.1-megapixel compact digital camera, the Leica V-Lux 30. The camera features the Leica DC Vario-Elmar 4.3 – 68.8 mm f/3.3-5.9 ASPH. 16x zoom lens, which has an extended range of focal lengths equivalent to 24mm to 384mm in 35mm format. Thanks to this high performance lens, the Leica V-Lux 30 delivers outstanding image quality and covers a wide range of photographic opportunities, ranging from wide-angle and macro shots to telephoto shots of distant subjects. The new superzoom compact camera also offers 1080i Full HD movie recording in the AVCHD format, 10fps continuous shooting at full 14.1MP resolution and can generate 3D images. Additional specs include a 3-inch touch-sensitive display with a resolution of 460,000 pixels and an integrated GPS function. The Leica V-Lux 30 will be available from Leica dealers beginning June 2011.
