After Photokina and PMA, the digital camera battle has yet to stop. It will continue over time, and there are a number of things that you have to consider before getting your next digital camera. From prices to features, to gears which will match your camera and usage, you really need to do some homework before you decide which camera to purchase.
If you’re looking at spending around $400-500 for a dSLR, Steve’s Digicam Forums has a good discussion about choosing either a brand new Canon EOS Rebel XS D1000, tagged at $550, or a used Nikon D80 for $400 (used since oct 2007 ). For me personally, buying a used digital camera comes with a number of risks, so I think I would settle with the new EOS, but what about you?
