Have you ever taken a picture from the airplane?  If you have, then you know you  can use any digital camera, but if you are concerned with the results, then you may want to try Canon PowerShot A720 IS.  For a mid-end consumer point and shoot, the 6x optical zoom may come in handy from all the way up there, and the image stabilization will reduce shakes from flight turbulence.
