Dpreview just posted the EOS 50D review, Lars Rehm and Richard Butler who explore the gear, they did a great job. For features they give 9.5 ( almost perfect ), for performance and build quality they give 9.0.
But overall the result are pro to Canon.

Today Canon and Nikon have announced a firmware update for the Canon EOS 50D and Nikon D300. Canon update for corerct phenomenon in which an image becomes overexposed. Nikon update to improves focus performance in dynamic-area AF mode contrast-detect mode in live view.
