Nikon has decided to update the Nikon D3100 DSLR by releasing the firmware update version 1.01. The new firmware fixes various bugs related to AutoFocus, image playback, an error message and a magenta tint seen in the bottom of photos captured at high sensitivity settings after the camera had been in Live View mode for an extended period of time. The firmware version 1.01 for Nikon D3100 is available for Windows- and Mac-powered computers. [Nikon]

The new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 digital camera is part of the Lumix FX-Series of stylish and compact digital cameras. The camera features a new Smart Touch operation on the large 3.5-inch 16:9 aspect LCD display, allowing for intuitive touch operation, including Touch AF, Touch Zoom, Touch Shutter and Touch Playback. The Panasonic Lumix FX77 also incorporates a new high quality LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMARIT 24mm ultra wide angle lens with a 5x optical zoom with F2.5 aperture. The lens especially excels not only in shooting dynamic landscapes with its wide angle of view but also in capturing moving subjects even in low-light situations such as indoors or at night with its outstanding brightness. The 24mm wide-angle lens provides approximately 213% larger viewing space when compared to a traditional 35mm camera. Leica X1 BMW Limited Edition Camera

German camera manufacturer Leica has jopined together with German automaker BMW to release the Leica X1 BMW Limited Edition camera. The camera comes equipped with an Emarit 24mm f2.8 ASPH lens, a CMOS image sensor, a retro metal casing and a little BMW logo stamped on the casing. Samsung ST6500 Compact Digital Camera With A Curved Design

The new Samsung ST6500 is a stylish new digital camera with a curved design. The body of the ST6500 is curved around the lens and angled at 7 degrees to make for a more ergonomic fit. The camera has a 16-megapixel sensor, a 5x optical zoom lens, a new Smart Touch 3.0 User Interface, a 3.0-inch LCD touchscreen display and the intelligent Smart Auto feature, which automatically adjusts the camera’s settings. Kenro, the UK distributor for Nissin flash equipment, has started selling the new generation Nissin Di466 model that is designed for Four Thirds System DSLR cameras. The flash unit features a G/N of 33m @100ISO (53mm focal length), Bounce head through 90 degrees, TTL Exposure compensation from -1.5EV to +1.5EV by 0.5EV steps, Slave Remote Flash for either analogue or digital (pre-flash) flash systems with variable power in six steps, MY TTL, and a feature exclusive to Nissin enabling the user to customize their own TTL exposure level settings. What’s more, the flash also produces the same color as sunlight, which is useful for daylight fill-in photography. Latest Firmware Updates For Pentax K-x And K-7 DSLRs

Pentax has rolled out new firmware updates for its K-x and K-7 digital SLR cameras. The firmware version 1.02 for the Pentax K-x and version 1.11 for the Pentax K-7 add support for SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) memory cards, though Pentax remarks that the cameras’ maximum transfer rates are “not compatible with UHS speed class”.
