Olympus Will Launch New Firmware Update For The PEN Camera Series

Olympus will release a firmware update to improve the Olympus PEN E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1. The new firmware will be released on April 22nd, 2010. It will improve AutoFocus performance when shooting both stills and videos using any Micro Four Thirds or Four Thirds lens. This upgrade also enables additional display functionality to the E-P2 and E-PL1 cameras when fitted with the VF-2 Electronic Viewfinder.
The new firmware also ensures that like the E-PL1, the E-P1 and E-P2 camera models are fully compatible with and able to take advantage of two recently announced and upcoming lenses such as the M. Zuiko Digital ED 9–18mm F4.0–5.6 and M. Zuiko Digital ED 14–150mm F4.0–5.6 lenses. These two lenses are optimized for shooting high definition video with accurate and silent AutoFocus.
