The latest firmware update for the Sigma SD1 DSLR camera is now available for download. The firmware update version 1.03 improves

- Accuracy of Auto White Balance.
- Accuracy of evaluative exposure metering.
- Accuracy of flashgun light control.
- Image quality at high ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 (only RAW file).
- Sharpness processing (only RAW file).
- Various bugs have been corrected to achieve more stable operation.

Sigma has issued the firmware update version 1.02 for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR camera. The new firmware update corrects various bugs to achieve more stable operation and improves image quality at high sensitivity (ISO 3200, ISO 6400) for raw image files. Sigma has rolled out new firmware upgrades for the Sigma DP1x and DP2x large-sensor compact cameras. The firmware update version 1.02 for the Sigma DP1x addresses the following:

- Capture priority mode is incorporated
- RAW+JPEG simultaneous recording is incorporated
- High AF speed is enhanced
- Functions related to focus frame is enhanced
- Image quality of the LCD monitor is improved
- Enlarge Display function when in AF is added
- Switching focus mode order is changed to enhance the integration with the DP2x
- A phenomenon which produced noise under certain conditions is fixed

The firmware update version 1.01 for the DP2x brings the following improvements:

- RAW+JPEG simultaneous recording is incorporated
- Functions related to focus frame is enhanced
- A phenomenon which produced noise under certain conditions is fixed

B&H Photo has started taking pre-orders for the Sigma DP2x. The camera features a 14-megapixel FOVEON X3 direct image sensor (2,652 x 1,768 x 3 layers) and has an Analog Front End (AFE) as well as a high-speed auto focus. The AFE converts full color data captured with the FOVEON X3 into digital signal, allowing for the reproduction of high-definition ad richly colored images. Sigma has rolled out the SD15 Twin Zoom Kit, which consists of the SD15 digital single lens reflex camera, a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens and a Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM telezoom lens. The Sigma SD15 is a digital single lens reflex camera, which has a 14-mega pixel X3 direct image sensor that captures fully the three basic colors of light – red, green and blue – at every pixel location over three layers.

The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens is equipped with approximately 4 stops OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. The lens offers a large aperture of F2.8 at the 18mm focal length. The Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM telezoom lens offers approximately 4 stops OS (Optical Stabilizer). The small and light construction ensures great portability and easy handheld telephotography.
