After Pentax K2000 and Leica M8, will Nikon go white to increase the sales?         [ nikonrumors ]

Nikon and Panasonic are diving in to the bottom, Panasonic with a net loss of around $2 billion (195 billion yen), and Nikon total net loss around $176 million (17 billion yen), the economy is expected to be worse than expected.                          [ bloomberg ]

Even with the tough world economy Nikon should see a minor 0.6% drop in DSLR camera sales and that of 3.2% in point and shoot cameras.      [ reuters via imaginginsider ]

The company’s sales of over 50,000 digicam units last month. BenQ took a 2% share of the total digicam market in China last year, which places it tenth overall. BenQ plans to increase this to a 3.5% share in the first half of 2009, and 5% for the second half of the year. I haven’t found out what makes Chinese like BenQ lately ?
