Nikon Inc. has announced the availability of the new AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G prime lens.
Measuring 80mm x 73mm and weighing 350 grams, this FX-format lens is perfect for shooting stills or HD videos under ideal lighting, in low light, head and shoulder portraiture, weddings or concerts. It has a fixed focal-length of 85mm with a maximum aperture of f/1.8, Nikon’s Internal Focus (IF) system and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for extremely quiet autofocusing. If you use the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G lens on a DX-format D-SLR such as the Nikon D5100 and D3100, the lens offers an effective field of view of 127mm. The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G will be available in March 2012 for $499.95 a pop. Samyang has finally unveiled the pricing and availability info about the Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye lens for Micro Four Thirds.
