Nikon releases ‘Learn & Explore’ app for iPhone

Nikon has introduced the ‘Learn & Explore’ app for Apple’s iPhone in collaboration with the ‘interactive agency’ Molecular. Currently available only to US customers, the app gives photo enthusiasts access to images, video lectures and audio commentary from the company’s website and enables them to read and bookmark articles from the Nikon World magazine. Canon has set a firmware update for its EOS 7D digital SLR. Version 1.0.9 improves AF accuracy during live view shooting. It also rectifies an occasional problem of abnormal color display in movie mode and freezing of the shutter release when using the built-in flash or an external speed light. 
Panasonic is out with new firmware updates for its Lumix DMC-GH1, DMC-G1 and the Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm F4.0-5.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. lens. The firmware version 1.1 improves the performance of the DMC-GH1, while the firmware version 1.3 for DMC-G1 improves the compatibility of Micro Four Thirds lens, finally the firmware version 1.1 for Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm improves O.I.S. in movie recording mode and compatibility of Micro Four Thirds camera. Canon releases EOS 5D Mark II firmware update version 1.1.0. With the new firmware v1.1, you now have control over the ISO and shutter speed settings giving you the creative control to make the camera behave the way you want.
Panasonic has announced a firmware update for its Lumix DMC-LX3 digital compact camera. Version 1.3 improves auto white balance and general performance of the camera. The latest version will be made available for download on the 1 June, 2009. [
