The latest firmware update for the Sigma SD1 DSLR camera is now available for download. The firmware update version 1.03 improves
- Accuracy of Auto White Balance.
- Accuracy of evaluative exposure metering.
- Accuracy of flashgun light control.
- Image quality at high ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 (only RAW file).
- Sharpness processing (only RAW file).
- Various bugs have been corrected to achieve more stable operation.
This firmware update should be applied to any SD1 camera that has firmware “Ver.1.02″ and lower. You can download the firmware software right here. [Sigma]

Do you still remember the Nikon D3100 that we posted in August last year? This DSLR camera is now available in a new paint job. The red Nikon D3100 has the same 14.2-megapixel Nikon DX format CMOS sensor, a fixed three-inch TFT LCD display, and Full HD video recording capability as the original D3100. Sigma has issued the firmware update version 1.02 for the Sigma SD1 digital SLR camera. The new firmware update corrects various bugs to achieve more stable operation and improves image quality at high sensitivity (ISO 3200, ISO 6400) for raw image files. Sigma has rolled out the SD15 Twin Zoom Kit, which consists of the SD15 digital single lens reflex camera, a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens and a Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM telezoom lens. The Sigma SD15 is a digital single lens reflex camera, which has a 14-mega pixel X3 direct image sensor that captures fully the three basic colors of light – red, green and blue – at every pixel location over three layers.
The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM standard zoom lens is equipped with approximately 4 stops OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. The lens offers a large aperture of F2.8 at the 18mm focal length.
