Sony today introduced the Sony Handycam NEX-VG10E, which is touted as the world’s first consumer interchangeable lens HD camcorder. This video recorder uses the Sony E lens mount and an extra-large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. The Sony Handycam NEX-VG10E comes supplied as standard with an image-stabilized Sony E 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens, offering a powerful 11x optical zoom range. This lens is also optimized for video shooting with an ultra low-noise AutoFocus and stepless diaphragm control. What’s more, the Sony NEX-VG10E is powered by Sony’s powerful BIONZTM processor to capture very high resolution video and still images. The AG-AF100 comes equipped with an interchangeable lens mount, so you can use an array of low-cost, widely-available still camera lenses as well as film-style lenses with fixed focal lengths and primes.
