Polaroid has unveiled the new SC1630 Android HD Camera at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Central Hall (booth #13613) from January 10 – 13, 2012. Known as the world’s first Android-powered digital camera, the Polaroid SC1630 Android HD Camera features a 16-megapixel CCD sensor with a 3x optical zoom lens, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi capabilities, face and smile detection, geo-tagging, a micro SD card (up to 32GB), one button upload to popular social media networks and in camera photo editing. The camera runs on the Google Android 2.3.4 operating system. Available in grey, red, blue, pink and yellow, the Polaroid SC1630 Android HD Camera will be launched in April 2012 for US$299.99. Nikon Inc. has announced the availability of the new AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G prime lens.
Measuring 80mm x 73mm and weighing 350 grams, this FX-format lens is perfect for shooting stills or HD videos under ideal lighting, in low light, head and shoulder portraiture, weddings or concerts. It has a fixed focal-length of 85mm with a maximum aperture of f/1.8, Nikon’s Internal Focus (IF) system and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for extremely quiet autofocusing. If you use the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G lens on a DX-format D-SLR such as the Nikon D5100 and D3100, the lens offers an effective field of view of 127mm. The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G will be available in March 2012 for $499.95 a pop. Nikon Corporation will introduce the new Nikon D4 at the 2012 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nikon’s new FX-format digital SLR camera features a newly developed Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor (36.0 x 23.9 mm) with 16.2 effective megapixels, the EXPEED3 image processor, an ISO sensitivity range from 100 to 12800 at normal setting (expandable to ISO 50 equivalent or ISO 204800 equivalent), a 3.2-inch LCD display with a 170-degree viewing angle and an ambient light sensor, a new 51-point AF system and a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body.

The Nikon D4 also allows you to record 1,920 x 1,080/30p Full HD and HD movies in three formats such as FX-based, DX-based, or 1,920 x 1,080 crop movie format. What makes this new digital SLR more special is that it is compatible with CF and new XQD memory card format. Samsung Electronics is ready to release the DualView DV300F WiFi-enabled compact digital camera in March 2012. The camera features a 16-megapixel CCD sensor with a 5x optical zoom and a 25mm wide-angle lens. What makes the DualView DV300F unique is that it has a 1.5-inch front-facing LCD display, so you can easily take your own pictures (self-portraits). This compact digicam supports Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can upload your pictures or videos to social media sites (Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and YouTube) or a cloud service (Samsung’s All Share Play and Microsoft’s SkyDrive). The WiFi connectivity also enables you to backup your images to your computer via a WiFi network or e-mail them to your friends without the need of a computer. If you don’t have a WiFi network at home, you can use a microSD card slot to save your images to a home PC. Additionally, the camera records 720p video at 30 frames per second. Sony China has started selling the new Cybershot W610 and W630 compact digital cameras. The Sony Cybershot W630 is a successor to the previously released W510, while the Sony Cybershot W610 is a successor to the W570. The Cybershot W630 features a 16.1-megapixel sensor, a 25mm wide-angle lens, a 5x optical zoom and 720p HD video recording. The Cybershot W610 offers a smaller 14.1-megapixel sensor with a 26mm wide-angle lens and a 4x optical zoom lens. Both cameras provide a 2.7-inch LCD display and a sweep panorama mode.
