£650 For Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 DC

10 20mmSigma has announced the price of the 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens it announced in March 2009. The new lens, that will be sold in parallel to the older, variable aperture design, will cost £649.99. Sigma, Canon and Nikon versions will be available in July, with Pentax and Sony variants to follow in August. [ dpreview ]

Yeesh! For that price I would be better off getting the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, I won’t get quite the range but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper (and a bit faster).
